The Legal Assistant will provide organizational and substantive support to the legal team. This hybrid, full-time role role requires attention to detail, smarts to handle ambiguous situations, and flexibility to adjust to the role as it evolves. The successful candidate will work a hybrid-remote schedule, to be based out of the office 2 days/week (garage parking spot & office with a view provided) and from the candidates' home 3 days/week. Responsibilities Answer and direct phone calls and communicate with clients, vendors, and outside counsel. Handle clerical tasks such as word processing, filing, scanning, copying, archiving, and faxing. Act as liaison between internal departments and outside agencies. Perform e-filing for Federal and State Courts, updating with case status and information. Transcribe electronic dictation, and schedule depositions. Organize and track status of cases and assist in the management of attorney court appearances. Assemble files and records for processing, may handle file retrieval requests. Maintain and secure records in accordance with established Firm policies and procedures. Create binders and creating hyperlinks for all electronic documents, adhering to all provided directions and guidance and maintenance of electronic files. Distribute various records to stakeholders. Support other staff and stakeholders in day-to-day administrative tasks. Assist with accounting and billing. Support special projects. Qualifications 5 years+ of relatable experience within a law firm. Working knowledge and understanding of federal and state court processes and procedures including electronic filing portals. Proficient in navigating Federal Court websites to research local rules and familiarity with legal research, including use of Pacer and Westlaw. Must have a solid understanding of technical legal terminology. Experienced with trial preparation and briefs. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent proofreading skills. Ability to timely respond to deadlines, balance workload and take initiative. Proficient with Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to work with and take direction from multiple individuals. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in cooperative, small office environment and communicate with attorneys and support staff on every level. High school diploma required.
