Duties

  • Plans and directs the operational aspects of content creation within the division.
  • Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of multi-platform production throughout the Division.
  • Keeps the Division Director appraised of pertinent issues; and represents the Division Director in their absence on operational issues.
  • In consultation with Division Director and Program Manager, interprets, establishes, and implements work practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Assists the Division Director as required on administrative matters, including personnel management, financial planning, training, program reviews, and management and requisition of personal services contractors or purchase order vendors.
  • Coordinates a relationship with affiliates throughout Africa and promotes and coordinates sharing of Africa Division content with its affiliates, and agency offices and staff.

  • The full performance grade level for this position is GS-14.


Qualifications

Applicants must haveone (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level that is in or directly related to this line of work.
Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. For this position, the following specialized experience is required:
  • Ability to manage operational aspects of programming initiatives, provide guidance and ensure that all necessary resources are obtained and administrative and logistical details are attended to.
  • Expert knowledge in the business operation of broadcasting to plan, organize, manage, and execute multiple tasks associated with multimedia operations.
  • Expert skill in communicating ideas, concepts, methods, analysis, evaluations, and recommendations by either oral or written communication to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to develop comprehensive multiplatform programming; and to encourage, foster, and cultivate the assistance of a variety of operational support elements.
  • Ability to make recommendations for changes to policies, procedures, and programs.


Education

There is no specific educational requirement and applicant cannot substitute education for experience at this grade level; however, academic achievements, especially those related to the position, may be considered during the selection process.

Additional information

1. Current USAGM career or career-conditional employees are not required to submit a copy of their latest SF-50, Notification of Personnel Action and/or a copy of the SF-50 that reflects career or career-conditional tenure, during the current pandemic.
