We seek a Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) to support WCS Construction, our affiliated construction company, District Electrical Services, our subsidiary, and three other smaller subsidiaries. This high visibility position is a vital member of the HR team and partners with employees and managers across the assigned portfolio. The ideal partner will have previous experience supporting construction or trades organizations, have strong generalist experience, excellent communication, and presentation skills, and a desire to implement change within an already outstanding organization.This position will be based in our corporate office located in the growing Navy Yard.#NowHiringPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Support and execute full lifecycle employee and HR processes, including staffing, performance, training, and other people processes.Lead recruiting efforts for assigned portfolioReview and make recommendations to existing human resources policies and practicesPartner with Managers on employee relations issuesTravel locally to site locations for training and interactions with Managers and EmployeesMaintain in-depth knowledge of legal/regulatory federal and state requirements to ensure employees' fair and consistent daily management, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance for employees.Predict, assess, and determine business needs in the areas of organizational design, staffing, performance management, succession planning, development, and communication plansDemonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB)Partner with other HR functions to identify, evaluate and drive forward key training as necessaryPromote and support the consistent application of HR policies, legislation, and best practicesDevelop enhanced people related communication strategies that drive engagementProvides exemplary internal customer service as the HR point of contact for the specified portfolioUtilizes data to improve business processesContribute to other human resource department projects and initiatives regularlyREQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in Human Resources or a relevant fieldMinimum of three years of HR experience required, Generalist/HRBP experience preferredExcellent data analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skillsAdvanced presentation, verbal, and written communication skills, with strong customer service orientation.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and HRMS platformsExperience producing results in a dynamic and fast-paced environmentExperience supporting a non-exempt population in a trades field.Strong knowledge of federal, state, and DC labor and employment lawSelf-directed and able to balance multiple time-sensitive deliverables and effectively prioritize, organize, and manage time.Proactive and results-oriented with strong attention to detail and excellent follow-throughCommitment to excellence and high level of integrity; ability to exercise strict confidentiality and sound judgmentStrong client-service focus and ability to build and manage relationships across different levels and functionsBENEFITS:Health InsuranceDental InsuranceVision Insurance401k Plan with company matchTen paid holidaysCommuter BenefitsEmployee Assistance ProgramFree parkingABOUT WC SMITHWC Smith is a leading multidisciplinary real estate company firmly grounded in the District of Columbia.
