Overview: St. Michael's is seeking candidates who possess auditing, audit remediation, and other relevant financial and accounting experience as a civil servant, service member, or defense contractor. Candidates must have a firm understanding of US Government accounting and audit practices; must have knowledge of GAAP, FASAB, GAGAS, OMB Circular A-123, GAO Green Book, FAR, and other authoritative guidance governing internal controls in the Federal Government. Knowledge of USCG Organizational Structures is a plus. Successful candidates must be mission-focused and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; and must be able to track all project deadlines and follow-up on their timely completion. General personnel qualifications are as follows.Location: Washington, DC (Currently Teleworking until Government Lead comes back into office)Active Clearance required: USCG SuitabilityRequired:Minimum 10+ years of relevant work experience (5 of which must be federal government work experience).Experience auditing federal agencies financial statements, or performing audit readiness work in the Department of Homeland Security as a government employee or contactor directly in support of an audit readiness task order.Familiar with internal controls testing and reporting practices.Experience supporting USCG/DHS, especially in a finance/accounting capacity, is a plus.Duties Include:Performing substantive testing on existing open obligations on a monthly and quarterly schedule.Provide support with obligation lifecycle management and reimbursable program management.Developing budget execution analytics.Resolving audit and internal control issues associated with budgetary accounting.Developing and implementing corrective actions for emergent budget issues.Developing and documenting business processes and policy.Preparing and submitting documentation requests.Testing the design and effectiveness of controls.Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or bachelor's degree with an active Certified public Accounting (CPA) certificationDesired:CPA"St. Michael's is An Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Vet"A' RxRp7j4up2
