Senior Oracle Database AdministratorJob Location: Falls Church, VA including remoteJob Description:The position will require in-depth knowledge and experience installing, configuring, hardening, and deploying complex Oracle databases. Successful candidates will have extensive experience with the latest releases of Oracle RDBMS and be proficient with Oracle RAC clustered environments using Oracle Data Guard to support a high availability environment. Candidates will support and provide expert guidance to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and supporting client managers as well as support applications utilizing the Oracle RDBMS technology. The position requires leadership skills as a member of the engineering team to provide oversight, engineering review, administration, patching, security, and deployment of Oracle databases to information systems leveraging this technology. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining various engineering artifacts and documents required by the Agency. The position requires working with development teams, system owners, support contractors, and government engineers.Qualifications:7+ years' experience with Oracle database technologies including RAC, GRID, and Data Guard. 2+ years' experience with the Oracle Container Databases (CDBs) and Pluggable Databases (PDBs).Experience monitoring and performance tuning large Oracle database environments. Experience managing, starting, and shutting down Oracle RAC environments to support upgrade, patching, and maintenance associated with Oracle databases.Familiar with Oracle's memory and process architecture.Experience managing Automatic Storage Management (ASM)-managed storage.Ability to manage database security, users, groups, roles, and permissions.Significant experience hardening of Oracle databases to protect sensitive data using secure transmission and Data At Rest (DAR) protection techniques.Ability to monitor and perform backup and recovery operations of Oracle databases. Familiarity with event-based architectures and integration with Oracle APIs exposing services (eg, REST, SOAP).Soft SkillsExperience working with cross-functional teams (Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, Designers, Business Analysts).Strong communication and collaboration skills with track record of taking solution ownership.Demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate with leadership and key stakeholders to include performing complex engineering analyses, documenting findings, preparing presentations and documents.Demonstrated ability to document solutions to maintain required engineering and security artifacts as well as the ability to prepare project briefings when required.Previous experience with applications operating within DoD or other Federal Agencies desired.Education/Certifications:BS degree in Information Technology or other related technical discipline Oracle database or relevant certificationsCompTIA Security+ (desired)**MUST BE A US CITIZEN AND BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE GOVERNMENT'S BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION**d1ce
