The Desktop Team manager will drive a team of 5+ engineers to effectively execute product strategy and balance priorities from other internal teamsxe2x80x99 needs. You will support and collaborate with the teamxe2x80x99s engineers, designers, and product management. You will collaborate closely with leadership to scale the team while maintaining a sustainable engineering process. What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? This is a somewhat hands-on, highly technical engineering role. However, as a manager, you are not expected to write code on a daily basis. Your highest priorities are supporting your team, ensuring proper execution, and on-time delivery. This involves enabling them to do their day-to-day job well and enabling them to grow and become better engineers. You will learn about and use Kubernetes and related cloud development tools You will explore different IDEs such as VS Code, IntelliJ, and cloud-based IDEs and discover ways to integrate them with Tanzu You will work with an evolving tech stack that includes TypeScript, Java, and Go You will collaborate with your team to develop, release, and maintain software for enterprise customers and community users You may also provide support to enterprise customers and field representatives and join an on-call rotation You will be expected to contribute your experience to improve our engineering process You will also spend time contributing to conversations with leadership about the size and scope of your team which could lead to interviewing and hiring additional engineers.
