This position will be located in Dulles, VA.Pursue an exciting career developing space vehicle simulation platforms for large commercial and non-commercial space programs. Work on various programs such as NASA's Gateway/HALO program, National Security Space systems, and communications satellites. Our simulation platforms consist of flight computers and other space vehicle components connected with specially designed space vehicle harnesses to various hardware and software simulation interfaces for complete hardware in the loop simulation.Roles and Responsibilities:Engineers on our teams all participate in the following activities:Establish simulation requirements.Select off-the-shelf or design interface hardware to simulate space vehicle components (actuators, sensors, and payloads).Develop simulation software models and interfaces.Define simulation platform harnessing based on the space vehicle flight harness and simulation requirements.Interface with hardware engineers in the design, build, and test of the simulation platforms.Work with other engineering disciplines to integrate components and flight software with the simulation platform.Simulation hardware definition and software design, development, debug and integration on simulation platforms.This position can be filled as a Principal (level 3) or Sr Principal (level 4) depending on candidate qualifications and experience.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related fieldMinimum of 5 years of experience (level 3) or 9 years of experience (level 4)U.S. citizenAbility to use common software/electrical engineering laboratory equipment such as Oscilloscope, Multimeter and Power Supply.Ability to develop software in both Windows and Linux environments;Advanced programming proficiency: C/C++, Python, Visual StudioAbility to use software revision control tools such as svn tortoise and gitPreferred Qualifications:Ability to use National Instruments data acquisition productsAdvanced understanding of electrical interfaces such as digital signals, analog signals, RS-422 synchronous serial and UART, MIL-STD-1553, Spacewire, LVDS;Active Top Secret/SCI clearanceExcellent communication skillsAbility to work in small teamsDevelops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativitySalary Range: 101400 - 152200Salary Range 2: 125800 - 188600Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
