ITIF seeks an outreach manager for digital policy to maximize its public engagement on key digital policy issues in the United States and Europe by promoting ITIF's pro-innovation perspective. The ideal applicant will excel as a communicator, both behind a keyboard and in front of a podium, be well-versed on tech policy issues, including antitrust, privacy, and content moderation, and understand how to navigate and respond to the politics and policies of the ongoing "techlash." The position will be responsible for marshalling evidence, logic, and wit to engage in policy debates and amplify ITIF experts and views in public forums, including on social media and in the press. The outreach manager for digital policy will report to ITIF's vice president of outreach. Essential Responsibilities Craft unique and engaging content to amplify ITIF policy messages across multiple forums, including social media, op-eds and blog posts, press, and in-person/virtual events. Provide expert commentary and insights about key digital policy issues, particularly antitrust, privacy, and content moderation. Identify and cultivate relationships with relevant stakeholders interested in ITIF's work around digital policy. Promote ITIF's publications and events to relevant stakeholders and influencers to maximize the institution's global impact. Publicly debate and challenge those promoting anti-tech agendas with evidenced-based researched grounded in analytical rigor, original thinking, policy pragmatism, and civility. Qualifications Graduate degree (or equivalent experience) in public policy, economics, political science, law, statistics, information science, computer science, or a related field. Excellent rhetorical skills with a proven ability to communicate complex policy topics to a variety of audiences. Ability to quickly digest and communicate about research on a range of complex policy topics. Experience creating engaging social media content. Experience working with fast deadlines to respond to breaking news. Demonstrated interest and expertise in technology and innovation policy.
