Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.As a key member of the Northrop Grumman MS Sector Government Accounting organization, the position will manage and lead a variety of Government Accounting projects. This will include being the liaison to the onsite DCAA auditors supporting their ongoing audits, preparing and supporting incurred cost submissions, and researching and responding to both internal and external inquiries regarding Northrop Grumman accounting systems and practices.The manager of Government Accounting will interface with functional organizations and other sector personnel and ensure compliance with internal procedures, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and other government policies and procedures. This will require the ability to work effectively as a team member within both the Government Accounting function and the overall Northrop Grumman organization as well as manage and complete assigned projects independently.As an experienced Government Accounting focal point, individual will identify and provide training and guidance to their team, and other Northrop Grumman personnel on Government Accounting topics to ensure employee awareness and compliance. Special projects will also be performed as required.Responsibilities:DCAA Liaison supportFocal point for DCAA auditsPrepare and respond to DCAA audit requests related to incurred cost for both direct and indirect costsMaintain strong, positive working relationships with DCAACoordinate with internal customers for audit responses.Work with Sector counterparts to obtain updated corporate & EnterpriseServices for Prior Year UpdatesPrepare & deliver Annual MS Rate Segments Incurred Costs SubmissionPrepare & Deliver FAR required main ICS schedulesGather information necessary for supporting schedules for DCAA Adequacy reviewsIssue Prior year billing rates for all open years as requiredNegotiate Local final overhead rates with DCMA DACOsPerform scrub of key accounts for allowability issues.Business System ComplianceFacilitate annual DCAA MAAR 5 & 13 and periodic Business Systems auditsProvide charging guidance to internal customersProvide FAR & CAS advice.Special ProjectsPerform special projects as necessaryMaintain close coordination with Travel Dept. to ensure allowability rules are enforced & any exceptions supportedRELOCATION ASSISTANCE MAY BE AVAILABLE FOR THIS REQUISITIONBasic QualificationsBachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration and 7 years of directly applicable, progressively responsible experience in a related field (Auditing, Accounting, and Compliance).Knowledge of FAR, CAS, TINA and other government regulations required.Experience working with DCAA auditors and good understanding of the Defense Contract Audit Manual (DCAM).Ability to advocate for company positions on interpretations of regulations.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environmentWillingness and ability to travel domestically up to 10% of the time.Preferred Qualifications:Advanced degree and/or CPAAerospace industry experienceExperience overseeing a Sarbanes-Oxley program.Salary Range: 113200 - 178000Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
