This position may be the perfect next step for you!We are looking for someone who will grow volunteer and girl membership in an assigned area of Fairfax County while also working on some county-wide initiatives to grow and support membership. This person will be the subject matter expert on conflict management to smooth issues as they arise among volunteers and parents. Additionally, this person will take the lead on working with the Fairfax County Public Schools administrative office and other large community partners to establish solid, long-lasting partnerships.What Winning in this Role Looks LikeUse your art of persuasion to cultivate large community partner organizations (ie Fairfax County Public Schools) to enter in mutually beneficial agreements and partnershipsSupport community partners with webinars, trainings, and orientationsBe a subject matter expert in conflict resolution and relationship building and provide direct intervention, as neededDeveloping prospects and leads for conversion to members.Leveraging sales development techniques to reach membership goals.Making cold contacts daily, through telephone, email, and video calls, as well as follow up with warm leads.Maintaining strong relationship with adult volunteers through phone calls, emails, video calls, and in-person meetings, including assisting with conflict resolution as the need arises.Recruiting for and working with administrative teams of volunteers to serve Girl Scout families.Training and being a cheerleader for volunteers on girl and volunteer recruitment.Supporting recruitment efforts through girl program, including day camps and sampler troops.The Skills You Need to WinHave at least 3 years of experience with volunteer management, community organizing, and/or program managementExperienced in conflict mediation and resolutionStrong understanding of volunteer and community management, engagement, collaboration and developmentKnowledge of best practices and current theories of volunteer leadership development and volunteer management (Girl Scout volunteer experience is a plus!)Committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibilityLove for sales and making cold contactsHunger to achieve goalsAptitude to hear the word "no"A' as an opportunityA tenacious and resilient demeanorSelf-motivated and efficient with strong time-management skillsGreat written and oral communication skills, including public presentations (virtually and in person)Skilled with Microsoft Office, major social media platforms, and various video conferencing software; familiarity with Salesforce, a plusAbility to work 1-9 PM weekdays on a regular basis, with occasional 9AM - 5PM schedule during the week and frequent weekend events.Have access to automobile for daily travelExperienced working in and/or with Fairfax County Public Schools administrationComfortable and able to converse in Spanish or Korean would be useful (but not a must)Some of Our Benefits100% employer-paid HMO for employees (dependent coverage, POS, dental/vision available)3% employer contribution to 403(b), plus additional 2% matchHybrid work environment: combining flexibility of telework with in-person human interaction!Generous paid leave benefitsPaid holidays/office closures include: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and December 26-31.
