Kforce has a client that is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager in Woodbridge, VA.Key Tasks: * Financial Reporting Manager will oversee implementation of new GASB statements and APA reporting requirements * Lead a diverse team of 4-6 highly motivated, professional level staff responsible for capital assets, self-insurance, OPEB & pension programs, and financial reporting * Will review team member's journal entries, assist with reviewing Board agenda items, timesheets, and will write performance evals * As a Financial Reporting Manager, you will ensure the County maintains an adequate system of accounting records and comprehensive controls to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of financial reporting * Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles * Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or similar field * Minimum 5 years of prior experience with governmental accounting and/or auditing local governments, reporting, processes, and internal controls in a municipal government environment preferred, especially relating to capital projects, compiling the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, grants, and pensions & OPEB plans * 3 years of supervisory experience that includes managing 3 or more employees including recruitment, writing and conducting evaluations, approving timecards and leave requests, administering disciplinary actions, developing performance improvement plans, and experience successfully resolving conflict through coaching and mentoring * Experience with interpreting and implementing GASB standards and maintaining ongoing compliance * Experience with using Oracle EBS or Fusion/Cloud preferred Kforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
