Undergraduate Recruitment & Outreach CoordinatorThe George Mason University, School of Business invites applications for the position of Undergraduate Recruitment & Outreach Coordinator. This position provides administrative, logistical, and recruitment support to the recruitment and engagement functions within the School of Business Undergraduate Programs team. This is a full-time classified staff position.George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:The Undergraduate Recruitment & Outreach Coordinator has responsibilities in the following areas:Administrative Recruitment Support and Outreach which includes:Assistance with day-to-day operations of Undergraduate Recruitment and Outreach;To include: outreach via phone, email, and mass communication systems; constituent engagement and management; and other administrative tasks;Expanding and maintenance of freshmen student population pipelines;Consistent awareness and upkeep with industry trends in regards to freshmen student recruitment and opportunities. This includes, but is not limited to, DECA, FBLA, and BACAC;Expanding and maintaining transfer student population pipelines between Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) and other Virginia community college (VCCS) campuses;Continually research new pathways for students to transfer into the School of Business;Further expand ADVANCE specific recruitment events and initiatives;Serving as the liaison between ADVANCE and the School of Business Recruitment and Academic Advising teams;Increasing Admissions events both on and off-campus;Establishing a semi-regular campus presence at regional community colleges;Coordinating and conducting prospective transfer student appointments and group information sessions; andPre-advising transfer student populations in coordination with Academic Advisors and School of Business policies.Student Ambassador Program which includes:Leading the Student Ambassador Program, including all staffing needs of the function;Providing guidance and mentorship for Ambassadors throughout their tenure; andFurnishing meetings, agendas, and trainings for Ambassadors to remain well informed.Collaboration with School of Business Student Services, which includes:Continuous collaboration with student services within the unit to assure proper policies, scope of services, and events are communicated to all prospective students and guests, as well as, to our students residing in the learning community (LC);Serve as a liaison between transfer counselors and School of Business Academic Advisors;Host transfer workshops for both transfer and AVANCE student populations in coordination with Academic Advisors; andProvide support to LC residents during times of distress and success, as well as providing assistance to the community during times of conflict, tension, and achievement.Event Planning and Coordination which includes:Coordinating recruitment activities, including fairs, open houses, and on-site visits;Developing and implementing Shadow Day opportunities for high school students and community partners;Logistical oversight of new summer programs for community partners;Collaborating with stakeholders for central and School-specific recruitment activities targeted at first-time freshmen; andAssisting the Office of Student Success and Academic Services to offer event planning assistance and operation support.Liaison to School and University Constituents, which includes:Representing Undergraduate Recruitment and Engagement to the University and School of Business partners. These partners include: Marketing and Communications, Enrollment Management and Marketing, School of Business Minor Programs, University Admissions, Housing and Residence Life, Alumni Relations, School of Business Development, and academic partners;Serve as the Liaison between the School of Business MarCom and Recruitment teams while assisting with marketing and communication projects as assigned;Aiding in the implementation and growth of Minor Programs through marketing, event, and logistical support; andContinuously collaborating with campus partners to provide experiential learning programs and opportunities to School of Business students.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in education or student affairs or equivalent work experience in admissions and recruitment;Excellent customer service skills as this function frequently interacts with guests, students, and community partners in-person and virtually;Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills; andMust have the ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in a highly visible office.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in education or student affairs or equivalent work experience in admissions and recruitment.Experience in higher education environment, specifically within a School of Business with independent enrollment goals;Knowledge of recruitment and admission trends within higher education, community colleges, high school and adult student outreach, and certificate programs; andExcellent computer skills with working knowledge of all applications in Microsoft Office, electronic calendaring, e-mail, University applications such as Microstrategy, Banner, and Salesforce, School applications and files, and Admissions/University databases and reporting formats.
