Job Description

Arc XP is a cloud-based digital experience platform that helps enterprise companies, retail brands and media and entertainment organizations create and distribute content, drive digital commerce, and deliver powerful multichannel experiences. A division of The Washington Post, Arc XP has powered the digital transformation of customers across the globe, currently serving over 1,900 sites in more than 25 countries that reach nearly 2 billion unique visitors monthly.

As a member of the product design team at Arc, you will shape the future of our business and consumer facing products. The ideal candidate is passionate about user-centered research and design and enjoys collaborating and working with others. This internship offers a robust experience for students who are interested in growing professionally and developing their user experience research and design skills. In this role you will receive the opportunity for hands-on practical experience working directly with our product teams.

Responsibilities
  • Create an intuitive and thoughtful user experience for our enterprise applications or the vision for consumer facing experiences across media, retail/commerce, or marketing websites
  • Collaborate with members of the design and product teams to conduct research and usability tests for new products and product features
  • Create conceptual wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs
  • Participate in workshops and ideation sessions
  • Present your work, sharing designs, context and rationale for your decisions within our weekly design review sessions
  • Participate in design QA to ensure we're releasing high quality products that match our design standards
  • Help build out the Arc Design System - designing a pattern or component for cross-product integration

Qualifications

We believe this is ideal for you if you are attending, or recently graduated from, a university/college with a major in user experience design (or a related field) or recently completed a relevant bootcamp program.

This 12-week paid internship is for the summer of 2022, full time based on a 40-hour work week, and is remote.

Must be familiar with user experience principles (research, concept ideation, wireframing, and design), have experience using Figma to design and prototype, and be enthusiastic to learn and collaborate.

The Post strives to provide its readers with high-quality, trustworthy news and information while constantly innovating. That mission is best served by a diverse, multi-generational workforce with varied life experiences and perspectives. All cultures and backgrounds are welcomed.
