Loudoun Water, a public water and wastewater utility located in Ashburn, Virginia, is looking for a Communications Coordinator to become a part of our Corporate Communications Department. The individual will support customer and stakeholder-centric outreach initiatives by:

• Leading tours through the Aquiary, Loudoun Water’s educational exhibit
• Supporting the Communications Team with school and community event presentations
• Representing Loudoun Water in public at community events, schools, and other venues

This individual will also write and disseminate information including web content, social media, presentations, newsletters, photographs, and public displays. Making personal appearances and taking photos at community events is a large part of this position. The individual will also supervise the production of inventory of promotional giveaways including water bottles, shower timers, rain gauges and leak detection dye tabs. Graphic design experience a plus. Administrative to support the department as needed.

Requirements: BA/BS degree in communications, marketing, or related field.  Experience in customer service or related experience. Progressively responsible work experience in a similar field may be substituted for degree. High level of self-motivation and excellent critical thinking skills. Experience with deadline pressure and ability to grasp new information quickly desired.  Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products.  May require work outside of normal business hours and/or on weekends as necessary to carry out job responsibilities and duties
