Van Metre is seeking a skilled Carpenter at our production facility, Van Metre BASE in Winchester, VA! Reporting to our Senior Vice President of Construction, you will have the opportunity to serve in a lead role on our exciting and innovative projects. Primary Responsibility: You will be working as part of a team to build homes in our production facility in Winchester, VA. Additional Responsibilities Include: Perform carpentry work on homes Read and interpret architectural plans and structural drawings and build according to plan Perform framework, finish work, and trim work Maintain daily all checklist, daily logs and schedule and other documents as needed Maintain a clean and safe work site Comply with company and governmental safety guidelines Qualifications: 5+ years' carpentry experience in residential home building Strong working knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods, including setting of premanufactured wall panels and roof trusses Ability to determine and clearly identify proper materials and material quantities for new homes Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, structural drawings, and specifications prepared by other construction professionals Proficient in using electrical and battery hand tools such as drills, chisels, sanders, saws, and nail guns Familiarity with fitted wall panels, installing floor decking, siding, windows, doors Knowledge of safety and local building codes Valid Driver's License Ability to lift 75-100 pounds OSHA Safety and Red Cross Certification will be required once hired; Van Metre Companies will pay for certifications (if not currently held) Van Metre was just named one of the Top Workplaces in DC in for four consecutive years by the Washington Post!
