Po`okela Solutions has a need for a Public Health Policy Advisor to provide support to the Health and Human Services (HHS) on Women's Health (OWH) out of Washington, DC. DUTIES INCLUDE: Project Management Kickoff meeting Assessing and planning project objectives, purpose, and scope Overseeing scope, cost, timelines, risk, quality issues, and communications Defining opportunities for collaboration, cost savings, and increased effectiveness and supporting strategic planning efforts Identifying, retaining, and working with senior-level health-science analysts who have expertise and experience with issues related to women's health Efficiently managing labor hours (ie, providing maximum responsiveness with minimal labor time) Developing quality-assurance measures/processes Performance monitoring and project evaluation Project closeout and final report Strategic Planning Preparing technical reports for the Assistant Secretary for Health, the Secretary and other stakeholders Producing legislative analyses Producing and revising reports of public health significance in support of the OWH Reviewing reports and policy documents Building relationships and liaising with internal and external partners to increase and strengthen the role and use of digital technologies Developing and implementing plans to promote public health products/resources related to maternal health, women's health, and COVID-19 Subject-Matter Expertise Providing subject-matter expertise and senior-level advice on areas as directed by the COR and other relevant OWH staff, including data, policy, innovative programs, market trends, and opportunities, and other relevant program areas related directly to the OWH mission Preparing briefing papers on new technologies and emerging trends, gaps, and issues in women's health across the lifespan Working with the Director, OWH staff, staff of OASH Communications, and with stakeholders to develop initiatives Meeting with the Director and OWH staff up to 60 minutes twice each week Developing a variety of senior-level traditional and digital materials for women's healthrelated issues and other conditions of public health consequences, as well as an overarching understanding of health-policy issues Producing and revising reports of public health significance in support of OWH Translating complex health information into clear, concise, and reader-friendly print, web, and media content and tailoring it for diverse audiences, with varying literacy levels Producing and revising public health materials for those diverse audiences Support Services Reviewing correspondence requiring technical consideration(s) based upon content and knowledge of program functions and staff assignments Preparing memoranda, letters, and reports in final form or in rough draft Establishing and maintaining records procedures for replying to requests for information, in preparation of reports, and the development, coordination, and general administration of functions performed by the Department Developing monthly reports DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Subject-matter expertise on maternal health and women's health conditions of public health. Experience in providing services related to technical writing, public health policy analysis, and project management. CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be a US citizen.
