The Human Resources (HR) Manager guides and manages human resources services, policies, and programs for the company. The HR Manager provides both strategic and hands-on expertise and support to the Director of HR, the HR Department and all levels of management across stores and central store support. In this position, it is extremely important to be able to develop strong working relationships to enhance and achieve company and department goals and objectives. This is a mid-level position, located in our Central Store Support office (Rockville, MD).Essential Functions:Serves as subject matter expert and provides guidance to employees/managers/HR team on human resource related topicsTrain and manage the HR store support employeesHandles employee relations issues (up to and including terminations) and handles escalations appropriatelyConduct stay interviews with store leadership and employees and present data in a timely and easy to understand formatAssist with answering employee/manager questionsAdministers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnelReviews and analyzes data to identify trends in employee engagementParticipates in Employee Life and Diversity and Inclusion initiativesEstablishes and maintains department records and reports related to progressive discipline cases, terminations, grievances and employee incidentsMonitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessaryParticipate in labor relations, legal compliance and training on behalf of the companyConducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind resignationsEnsures all employee relations tickets/emails/questions are being handled appropriately and resolved in a timely mannerEnsures compliance with all federal, state and local employment lawsFiles EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulationsParticipates in developing department goals, objectives and systemsEvaluates department initiatives, recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performedPerforms other duties as assignedRequired Skills/Experience:Bachelor's Degree in human resource management, business administration or related field and 5 years' related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experienceAt least 2 years in a management/supervisory roleFluency in Spanish (oral and written)Ability to think strategically, provide direction, manage multiple projects and execute in a dynamic environmentAbility to diagnose and support data-driven decision-makingStrong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; ability to create and deliver briefings to leaders/management/employeesExcellent attention to detail, especially with communication (written and verbal) and meeting deadlinesInterpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations and confidential informationAbility to adapt to frequent changing environmentStrong interest in company culturePreferred Education and Experience10 years' experience in field or career5+ years in a management/supervisory roleProfessional in Human Resource Certification (PHR) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP)Experience with DayforceCompetenciesHR ExpertiseLeadership & NavigationRelationship ManagementCritical EvaluationEthical PracticeINDMANAGE
