Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the WorldHeavy Equipment Operator / Vehicle MechanicPOSITION SUMMARYPAE seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator / Vehicle Mechanic (HEO/VM) for a position located in Niger, Africa, on an Installation Sustainment Services contract supporting the Air Force. The HEO / VM will be responsible for operating construction equipment to finish grade, level, slope and compact construction materials. The HEO / VM will maintain and repair graded roads, graveled roads, acreage, and open drainage. The HEO/VM will also conduct equipment repair and servicing and advise leadership of operational status of equipment and perform other duties as assigned IAW international, US, Air Force, PWS criteria and any other industry standards/criteria.The HEO / VM will be available to work schedules 24/7.The HEO / VM will be available within 4 hours to meet on the installation with Government personnel to discuss problem areas.QUALIFICATIONSA minimum of three years (3) previous experience at a US Air Force Military Installation with similar mission/project in scope and nature.Class A CDL with airbrakesNCCO certification preferredPrevious work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforceExcellent organizational, time management and customer service skillsPrevious work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforceValid driver's license and passportAbility to obtain/maintain base clearanceAbility to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deploymentCountry visa (as required in line with the US Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide)OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESExperience providing excellent customer service in supporting contract responsibilitiesAbility to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules and under pressure of deadlines while maintaining performance standardsEDUCATIONHigh school diploma or equivalentWORKING AND LIVING CONDITIONSThis position may be located in an environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be exposed to extreme and austere environment. Employees must be willing and able to perform regular job requirements in this austere, extreme environment. Employees must be willing and able to perform physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum; climbing in and out of equipment; crawling; and working outdoors.
