Job DescriptionBello Machre is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for our Residential and Personal Supports Program in Carroll County. Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are essential staff and provide loving care for adults with developmental disabilities who live throughout Carroll County. In addition to providing direct support and loving care, our Direct Support Professionals teach the people we support independent living skills, plan community-based activities, and implement individual program plans.QualificationsMust be at least 18 years oldA high school diploma or GED requiredMust have a current driver's license with no more than 5 pointsMust display a genuine interest in the well-being of adults with developmental disabilitiesMust demonstrate the ability to resolve problems and conflict effectivelyMust be able to deal with confidential information appropriatelyMust be able to communicate effectively with supervisor, peers, individuals, and familiesMust display a positive attitude when interacting with othersMust be able to teach skills, provide support, and build on each individual's strengths and capabilitiesResponsibilitiesProvide outstanding support and services for people with developmental disabilities, enabling them to participate as fully as they wish in all aspects of community lifeAssist individuals in the development of friendships and other relationships.Assist individuals to become an active participant in their community and to build natural support networksReports medical concerns, conditions, and changes in health status in a timely fashionMaintains accurate documentation including Medical Administration RecordsAdministers and maintains ongoing medication and physician ordersHelps maintain a family-style household, which includes cooking balanced meals according to clients' needs and preferences and maintaining house cleanlinessAttends mandatory training and meetings, including supervisory meetings and house meetingsEnsures a safe environment where individuals are free from abuse and neglectCompany DescriptionBello Machre - We provide a lifetime commitment of loving care, opportunity, and guidance to people with developmental disabilities in Maryland.
