Using unique expertise in the fields of materials science, surface science, optics, biochemistry and biology, the segment provides innovative solutions that improve productivity and enable breakthrough discoveries.Scope of Position:To provide electrical controls expertise to all areas of the Mediatech manufacturing facility in support of daily operations, cost reduction, and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities:Experienced professional in Industrial Controls and Automated SystemsProvides 2nd Level troubleshooting support on facility electrical, electro-mechanical, automation, and controls related issuesMaintains PLC, HMI, and other electrical/controls software and documentationSupport and expand industrial controls network in the facility for data collectionProvides technical training to maintenance associates in key controls areasRecommends and implements permanent solutions to address manufacturing challenges and propose new technology solutions.Designs and/or specifies new equipment or modifies existing equipment to continuously improve process performance. Coordinates installation, debugging and initial operation of new equipment and systemsIdentifies, justifies, and implements cost reduction, capacity enhancement, capital equipment and other improvement initiatives.Model safety in their work and ensure that all equipment and controls meet Corning and industry safety standards.Support key project work and engage in learning/leveraging system safety and quality standards.Complete work in accordance to ISO 13485 and 21CRF compliance standards.Documents material, process and/or equipment to protect and contribute to Intellectual Property improvements.Support key equipment and controls work through the facility and interface with Division/Corporate SME's as needed.Additional responsibilities as business needs and capabilities evolve.Travel Requirements: minimal, up to 5%Experiences/Education: Bachelor's Degree in related engineering field (Electrical, Automation, Industrial, computer) or 5 equivalent years of relevant experience.Required Skills:3+ years as a Controls or Automation Engineer in a manufacturing environmentExperience working on industrial controls in a manufacturing environmentExperience with industrial control development and implementationExperience in PLC/HMI programming and troubleshootingKnowledge of electrical systems and infrastructureStrong documentation skillsStrong problem solving skillsStrong teamwork skills including knowledge transfer and communicationDesired Skills:Experience working in a cGMP environmentExperience working with cleanroom environmentsExperience working with Allen Bradley/Rockwell controls platformsKnowledge of ORMEC PLC and OSI PIExperience establishing PLC networks for data collectionISO 13485 and 21CFR experience.Project management trainingLean Manufacturing or DMAIC training.This position does not support immigration sponsorship.We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
