The Lead WebDesigner develops engaging user experiences for a variety of applications and manages the creation of design assets. Determines the conduct of user experience research as well as translates user needs and business requirements into features that enhance user experiences. Oversees usability testing of prototypes, and builds relationships with stakeholders to attain buy-in for proposed user experience strategies. As the Lead Web Designer, you will:Be responsible for the quality of all deliverables across a variety of projects.Be a hands-on design expert, shaping the concept and seeing it through to detailed design and implementation across a variety of devices and platforms.Communicate and envision service concepts and ideas using methods & tools that illustrate all the components and touch-points of the service. Pulling together all aspects of the service design offeringInspire innovative approaches to design, using creative facilitation techniques and taking the lead at client meetings, internal company meetings, brainstorming and external design events.Encourage innovative approaches to design techniques, enabling the design team to embrace different angles to a design problem.Create "focused innovation" that balances the client's business needs while meeting their goal of improved user or service experienceCreate design briefs based on project proposals and client feedback.Have an understanding of how user research should be integrated into a projectEmbrace and harness new technologies.Bachelor of Arts or Design Certification in Web Design, or equivalent work experience6 years delivering interface and service design solutions for various clientsStrong leadership & hands on experience with design toolsExperience bringing a strategic perspective across a variety of work streamsStrong influencing, negotiation, and communication skills, both written and verbalStorytelling and a relationship building skillsExcellent presentation skills.Strong client communication skillsExperience developing rapid prototypesAbility to obtain a US government security clearance.Experience developing and delivering prototype solutionsExperience managing multiple teams and design efforts simultaneously Steampunk is a federal contractor subject to Executive Order 14042 and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) clause implementing the order.
