Apogee is known for an unwavering dedication to our client's success, a warm and employee-centric work environment, and an enthusiasm to provide the right solution at the right time.What you will be doing:Assume full operational responsibility of select ongoing Acquisition Programs within ApogeeProvide transition leadership to stand up high-performing, highly engaged teams of personnelPlan, organize and manage resources to bring about successful completion of operational and contract goals and objectivesManage, monitor, and meet program/portfolio performance goalsManage labor and travel funds and milestones for combined programsLead profit and loss portfolio management responsibilitiesIdentify operational risks; assess and manage infrastructure needs, contractual gaps, and coordinate solutionsProactively interface with employees, subcontractors, customers, and contracting officers and representatives to ensure products are delivered with quality and team expectations are managed appropriatelyLead and support staff hiring across multiple contractsManage high-performing teams, ensuring solutions are appropriate and staff wellbeing is regularly assessedProvide staff mentorship and career growth goal setting for staffLead Apogee organic business development opportunities within managed portfolioSupport company growth strategies, plan development, and contract executionSupport bid proposals and business level projectsCoordinate with Accounting/Finance and Contract Management teams to execute high-quality services delivery to government customersMaintain financial standards and reportingCreate, retrieve, and request contracting reportsRepresent Apogee's culture and mission statement in all interactions with employees, customers, and partner companiesImplement Apogee's staff engagement plan to ensure culture, work/life balance, and future opportunities remain viableWhat you will need to have:Security Clearance Required: Top Secret (TS) SCI eligibility preferredMaster's Degree with 16+ years' experience ORBachelor's Degree with 18+ years' experienceAt least fifteen (15) years of experience working within DoD and/or Federal acquisition communityAt least five (5) years leading and managing multiple acquisition services efforts in the federal contracting spaceExtensive knowledge of the Defense Acquisition System as directed by DoD Instruction 5000.02, "OPERATION OF THE ADAPTIVE ACQUISITION FRAMEWORK"Deep knowledge of and experience with Defense Acquisition Framework processes, methodologies, and artifactsDemonstrated ability to work with senior business and government leadersExpert level skills in verbal and written communicationAbility to travel approximately 25% of the timePreferred Qualifications and ExperienceProject Management Professional certification is strongly preferredDAWIA Level III Program Management certification strongly preferredIdeal candidate's experience is primarily within Defense contracting in cities where the acquisition community is a recognized part of the local economyAt least 10 years working with DoD organizations and personnel is preferredBenefits:Apogee offers two medical plans, a high deductible health plan with a HRA and a traditional POS plan with co-pays, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, PTO, paid holidays, parental, military and jury duty paid leaves. Regular part time employees scheduled for twenty-four or more hours per work week are eligible for benefits on a pro-rated basis.This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
