Web Content Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:The Web Content Manager is responsible for generation and maintenance of content on the MSD website, the management and execution of product/application specific email campaigns, and the performance metrics associated with the overall e-marketing platform. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally to create, implement and manage new online content/functionality relevant to the immunoassay market. The content must be technically accurate, current, and fully search engine optimized. The primary objective would be to present content and functionality that ensures incremental web traffic and revenue for MSDs reagents, instruments, and services.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Work across multiple functions to create, design, and optimize content for the company websiteIndependently generate primary product descriptions using technical knowledge that will be used by researchers to make purchase decisions.Work with Marketing team product managers to collaboratively develop additional content to build and design company websiteUtilize scientific knowledge regarding immunoassays and relevant research application areas in order to optimize how and where to publish content on the website or use in email campaigns.Work with IS department to ensure content is optimized for search ensuring ease of navigation and functionality for customers. Make recommendations on key scientific content that be used based on recent publications to drive the most traffic.Maintain website content functionality, update content, and provide technical and operational support to Marketing, Sales, and ServiceWork with the Marketing team to design and implement marketing promotionsWebsite SEO/SEM optimization, targeted e-mails and newsletters, and digital advertisingOptimize the website backend processes to ensure capture of relevant customer data for use by sales and marketingDevelop key indicators of website performance and marketing effectivenessMonthly track and monitor key website metrics including, but not limited to, web traffic, website downloads, customer profiles capturedMonitor and analyze ROI for digital marketing spend Specific duties may vary depending upon departmental requirements.EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree in the life science field (ie Biology, Biochemistry, etc.)Certification in relevant commercial web and/or IT technology courses such as web design and development a plusMinimum 5 years of relevant work experience in developing and managing e-commerce systems, Web CMS management (preferably Sitecore), or digital marketing in the life science industry.Technical knowledge on how immunoassays work is required.Experience managing website and e-marketing platforms (eg Sitecore, Pardot, Marketo, Engage or equivalents.)Experience with development of campaigns and interface with CRM, preferably SFDC.comKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Understanding of the best practices and techniques for digital marketing in the life science industry is requiredAbility to create novel web content using scientific knowledge of immunoassaysDemonstrate a thorough understanding of the principles of website optimization and digital marketingLogical problem solving and demonstrated ability to organize and move project tasks forward in an orderly and structured fashionDemonstrate excellence in teamwork, commitment, planning and organizationStrong project management skills consistently delivering on time and on budget, demonstrating adept handling of changesExcellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skillsEffectively communicate issues/problems and results that impact timelinesEffectively communicate performance goals and expectationsProficiency in MS Office Suite and relevant e-marketing/e-commerce platformsExperience with website and digital marketing tools including Sitecore, Pardot, and Google Analytics is preferredExperience with SFDC.com is preferredA wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected including the ability to multi-task and work productively in a demanding environment with changing prioritiesPHYSICAL DEMANDS:This position requires the ability to communicate and exchange information, utilize equipment necessary to perform the job, and move about the office.
