Duties include disaster recovery, performance analysis, and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data. Administers maintains, develops, and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database. Evaluates and recommends available database management system (DBMS) products. Performs database and software life-cycle activities to ensure the highest level of system performance and availability and compliance with business requirements. Performs Oracle, SQL Server, and SYBASE Database and Application server administration. Organizes and formats data for efficient query and storage processes.Position ResponsibilitiesMaintains the integrity, security, and availability of database(s)Administers maintains and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database(s)Organizes and formats data for efficient query and storage processesEstablishes and maintains database user accountsPerforms disaster recovery, performance analysis, and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of dataDevelops policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database(s)Evaluates requirements and recommends available DBMS productsPerforms database and software life-cycle activities to ensure the highest level of system performance and availabilityProvides server administration with a variety of database products that include Oracle, SQL Server, and SYBASESupports data modeling activities by way of prototype database implementationsDirects the monitoring, administrating, and implementing performance on database systems as well as database performance optimization, developing/changing database indices, redesigning database structure, and reloading data into a databaseCoordinates database architecture changes with database engineersDirects the installation of database management systems, databases, tables, and viewsDirects the administration and use of current and emerging database tools, strategies, and technologiesPosition / Candidate RequirementsCitizenship and TS/SCI Clearance with polygraphHave a Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology (IT) discipline from an accredited college or university.Have at least ten (10) years' experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required of which five (5) years' experience is required administering Microsoft SQL Server Databases.Have DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II or higher.Have certification as a LENEL Certified Expert (LCE) with a concentration in databases, obtained within six (6) months of personnel starting on contract.Strong Oral, Written, and Presentation Skills.Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills are a plus.Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% - 50% of the time.AbilitiesExposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.Sitting for extended periods of time.Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.Identify and understand the speech of another person.Why Sanford Federal?You can take pride in working for a company dedicated to serving our government by providing the best, most cost-effective solutions for the US Government.
