Parsons extensive experience in this field combined with your design knowledge and technical skills will propel your career forward.We need our Designers at this level to complete the most complex designs and layouts for complete systems and components of a project. In this role you will complete highly technical design assignments within one discipline, generally utilizing either 2D or 3D CAD methods. As an opportunity to grow your career, our Principal Designers may serve as Lead Designer on a small to medium sized project. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Complete complex designs and layouts for complete systems and components of a projectPerform front end layout and design of system and equipment applicable to the respective disciplineEnsure compliance with required specifications, tolerances, safety factors, and client requirementsPerform specialized design computations and analysisPerform interdisciplinary reviews and provide coordination of data to ensure a compatible designAssist in the establishment or revision of guidelines and standardsReview supplier data and supplier/manufacturer drawings, as requiredCheck orthographic (2D) and isometric (3D) drawings prepared by othersProvide direction to a team of personnel, ensuring the mathematical accuracy of the drawings producedCollaborate with Engineers and other engineering disciplines to ensure quality of designAssist in training lower level Designers in various proceduresMay prepare manpower estimates, as requiredRequired Qualifications:ACTIVE TS/SCI w/ polygraph required for considerationAssociate's degree or equivalent technical degree/certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter courseMinimum 10 years of experienceStrong PC and CAD skillsProficiency utilizing computer software to complete design assignmentsDesired Qualifications:Previous experience leading team of DesignersMust be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.The position may require a COVID vaccination or an approved accommodation/exemption for a disability/medical condition or religious belief as required by federal, state, provincial or local mandates or customer requirements.
