Special Olympics International headquarters Human Resources team supports the employment of staff in several regions around the world, including Asia Pacific, East Asia, Africa, Middle East, Europe and Latin America. This position will assist the Human Resources department in several areas, including HRIS development and administration, compliance, recruiting, training and development, compensation, global benefits, policy and recognition. There will be a strong focus on HRIS, policy and global benefit research.Primary Responsibilities: Research projects as assigned, in areas such as policy, benefits, professional development, retention initiatives, compensation, recognition programs, policy, etc.Support an organization-wide job description auditCollaborate with supervisors to update job descriptionsCollect and track job descriptions across the organizationProvide administrative supportAssist HR with administration of HRIS - UltiPro.Assist with recruiting, such as developing recruiting plans and coordinating recruiting efforts.Assist with remote events, webinars, and remote training & development opportunitiesAssisting with reviewing and editing HR documents, such as training and development presentations, Word documents, and spreadsheets.Assist with administering the new employee onboarding program for all new hiresOther duties as assigned.Required Qualifications: Currently enrolled in college courses and is considered at least sophomore status at start of internship; previous coursework in business administration and human resources preferredExcellent research skillsExcellent computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office.Ability to learn and become proficient in the use of other software.Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.Desired Qualifications: Interpersonal skillsOrganizational skillsLearning Objectives:Learn what goes into employing individuals on a global scale and how the HR department at an international nonprofit runs on a daily basis.Gain time management and project planning skills by working through multiple research and administrative projects simultaneously.Gain exposure to human resource information systems, applicant-tracking systems, and other common HR technologies.Special Olympics provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.
