Job Description Role: Sr. Data Analyst Duration: Long term contract assignment Location: Mclean, VA Ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience building and optimizing data structures for data analytics, data science and business intelligence. Experience building self-service data consumption patterns and knowledge of cloud-based data Lake platforms are a must. Desired practical experience including, but not limited to: wrangling data (structured and unstructured), in-depth knowledge of database architecture, both on-premise and cloud-based, and optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up in support of analytic and reporting applications. Information, Intelligence, and Insights team is responsible for creating Dashboards, Analytics, AI/Client models for our single family business partners The Data team in I3 helps collection, processing and storage of data to provide data to the developers in an agile and governed manner We manipulate, process, and extract value from large disconnected datasets We assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements We Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc. Responsible for simplifying the complexity of our ecosystem for customer reporting, analytics, and BI consumption patterns Build Data Marts and Data warehouses to facilitate analytical capabilities across the varied sources of data across Client Coordinate, convince and create a centralized data provisioning process for analytical capabilities of the team Design and implement data patterns on cloud using cloud Data warehouse and data virtualization tools Evaluate new tools and technologies for target state on cloud Learn and implement new ETL, BI tools and data warehousing technologies Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related degree or equivalent experience; Masters degree preferred 8 years of related work experience Knowledge of an analytical tool (SAS , Python ), ETL tools (ie Informatica / Talend), and a virtualization tool (ie Denodo, Dremio) or another analytical tool Experience working with AWS cloud-native technologies, S3, Athena Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working a variety of databases technologies (PL/SQL, MySQL, JDBC, NoSQL) Experience building and optimizing big-data data pipelines and data sets including Postgres, AWS Relational Data Service Experience shredding XML/JSON files and MongoDB as a data source Knowledge of Tableau and/or MicroStrategy a plus Knowledge of Snowflake a plus Familiarity with Secondary Mortgage Market and/or Client business and operations also a plus Strong leadership experience in highly matrixed environment Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present content from low to high levels of complexity to audiences of varying levels of seniority. Ability to interact cross-functionally and participate in both business and technical discussions. Proven track record serving as lead on major projects and/or programs People management experience a strong plus Harness the power of data to formulate and advise communications Keep calm under pressure Convince teams to adhere to the processes and data patterns Stay current on policies and regulations that may affect the industry and be comfortable with transition and change
