GeneDx is seeking a Laboratory Automation Specialist (FT, 40 hours, On-site)Role:This position works with robotics and automation systems in our DNA sequencing labs.Essential Duties include:Write automation programs by interpreting requirements as designatedAuthor preliminary SOPs and generate application-specific technical training content for process transfer to a clinical laboratoryTroubleshoot technical issues that arise in a clinical production environmentWork with vendors to facilitate instrument installation, maintenance, and performance monitoringAssist lab personnel in developing contingency plans for implementation during instrument downtimeProvide basic software and hardware training to end usersAid in validation efforts of newly developed workflowsQualifications include:BS degree in Biology/Biochemistry/Genetics/Engineering/CompSciExperience with computer programming, IT, and willingness to learn techniques for automating molecular biology laboratory applicationsTechnically competent and personable with a diverse group of scientistsStrong analytical, problem solving, and communication skillsFamiliarity with laboratory techniques in biochemistry and molecular biologyExperience with laboratory automation, methods development, programming, and genomics3+ year of experience programming a Hamilton STAR, Tecan Fluent, Caliper Zephyr/Sciclone, Opentron, or similar for molecular biologyExperience with NGS sample prep, Sanger sequencing, or Microarray workflows is preferredEssential on-site and Customer-facing employees must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination; medical or religious exemptions considered.Benefits include:Paid Time Off (PTO)Health, dental, vision, life insuranceLT/ST disability plansFlexible Spending Account (FSA)401K retirement savings plan with company matchEmployee DiscountsVoluntary BenefitsBusiness Casual Dress CodeGeneDx is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer
