Job DescriptionJob- Systems Engineer Specialist - Functional SafetyLocation: Lisle, ILRequired Skills: Engineer should have Safety Process Knowledge process and ISO 26262.We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer Specialist with Functional Safety experience to join our System Engineering Team.This position is part of the team establishing and developing vehicle systems ranging from conventional truck systems (chassis, body, powertrain, HMI, etc.) and with a special focus on supporting emerging technology development in ADAS and Electric Vehicle technologies. This position will work closely with the electronic hardware, mechanical hardware, and software engineering teams during product lifecycle.Desired Skills1. Develop ISO 26262 work products defined by the safety standards to prove compliance of the Safety Case.2. Develop safety concepts such as Functional Safety Concept/Technical Safety Concepts work products, system and software architecture1. Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Engineering, or related Engineering 2. Relevant safety personnel certifications (eg CFSP, CFSE, or equivalent)-preferred3. Prior automotive (required) industry experience in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), e-Mobility, or autonomous driving vehicle, system, or component development -desired4. Experience with requirement documentation and systems engineering principles and techniques5. Experience with engineering and quality design and development methodologies: (8D, FMEA, FTA DVP)6. Direct or coordinated software development experience7. Engineering tool MatLab, Simulink, MS Visio, INCA calibration tool, Software configuration management tools8. Software and electrical testing tools (Canalyzer, HILs, VILs, etc.)9. Experience with Vehicle, Powertrain or Engine Controls System design10. Experience in functional areas, such as Cybersecurity, Electric Vehicle Electronics, Autonomous Electronics (Radar, Lidar, Camera, Autonomous processor, etc..), Functional Safety (ISO26262), Vehicle Communications and Network11. Experience developing in safety critical regulated industries (aerospace, medical, automotive)12. Demonstrable working knowledge of functional safety development processes needed to meet the requirements of the ISO 26262 standard or adjacent market standards such as IEC 61508.13. Strong talent for carrying out both inductive and deductive safety analyses. Familiarity with common analysis techniques such as Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) is required.14. Active or previous CDL (Commercial Driver License) experience15. Domain development experience in system design (eg steering, brake, ADAS controls, perception sensors, body, HMI, etc.)16. Ability to learn fast, and to take ownership of assigned systems
