Job Description

Join a team of engineers that build software to meet the needs of The Washington Post, while also making the same software available to other publishers, broadcasters and brands around the world via software as a service.

Built 100% on AWS, our platforms follow a microservice architecture. All of our software teams use devops to deliver and maintain products. Our processes are lightweight, which allows our teams to innovate quickly to bring new ideas to market. New features and products are deployed to our users and customer base every day. Our product are built to scale and create an engaging experience for both content managers and end users.

We are currently looking for software engineering interns for the Summer of 2022. Ideal candidates should be currently enrolled in or have just completed a program in an accredited university or coding bootcamp.

Roles are available across the following disciplines:
  • Full stack web development
  • Mobile apps development
  • DevOps
  • Info security
  • Data sciences
  • Enterprise integrations
  • QA/Automation


Qualifications
  • Solid understanding of OO design principles
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (JavaScript, Java, Python, Swift, Kotlin, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of the agile software development methodology
  • Solid understanding of version control principles
  • Solid understanding of software testing principles
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD principles
  • Experience with Cloud computing platform (AWS, Google Cloud, etc)
