Job Description

The Washington Post is seeking a writer to join the Emerging News Products team to help develop and launch news quizzes. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented news junkie with a writing and editing background. We want a journalist who is passionate about charting the future of The Post and loves to experiment.

This position requires an ambitious journalist who can source, write and edit quizzes in our fast-moving newsroom. The writer will work closely with the director to brainstorm quiz formats and subject matters that complement our journalism and enhance our offerings. This person should have a passion for creating products and journalism that are timely, engaging and build habits with subscribers. Top candidates are organized, thrive on tight deadlines and excel at succinct writing. Prior experience with editing, research and social media is a plus.

Emerging News Products is responsible for incubating products and consulting on new content areas and platform investments. The team has pitched, shaped and launched products including The Washington Post's Select app, The Lily and By The Way .

This position is based in our Washington newsroom. Once we resume normal operations, it will not be eligible for remote work.
