Our client in the management consulting industry is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Administrator who can assist our clients with their payroll and benefits. If this sounds like you, we are looking for someone with experience who has worked in a small to mid-sized government contracting company in payroll and benefits administration.

Job Requirements

Qualified applicants must be able to:
  • Act as primary POC with VMSI payroll provider, Paychex and all tax agencies, government agencies and employees for any matters related to payroll
  • Process MULTI-STATE, domestic exempt and non-exempt bi-weekly W2 payroll and monthly 1099/IC payrolls, and perform complete payroll audit for each run to ensure 100% accuracy with all pay, direct-deposits, withholdings, deductions, garnishments, TPA invoice, etc.
  • Research payroll issues/discrepancies, and processes necessary corrections, calculate retroactive/adjusted pay, etc.
  • Enter new hires, rehires, promotions, compensation changes and terminations into payroll & benefits portals and ensure 100% accuracy with employee profiles to ensure payroll, federal & state withholdings, SUI/Nexus, benefit deductions, garnishments, etc. are all 100% accurate
  • Audit all deductions on payroll runs for medical, dental, vision, 401K, etc., and ensure all are deducted and applied appropriately
  • Provide reports for 401k, benefit elections, financial reports, and other reports as requested
  • Assist with all other HR functions as necessary, including but not limited to, onboarding and orientation, employee communication projects, provide support to the human resources manager, as well as general employee support
  • Manage electronic time reporting system, ensuring all timesheets are correct and submitted to process payroll & generate payroll processing report

  • 5 - 10 years applicable and progressive experience in MULTI-STATE payroll & benefits administration
  • Experience in ensuring compliance with all federal/state/local DOL, FAR laws, rules, guidelines and regulations
  • Experience interfacing with payroll and benefit providers and TPA's for various HR company functions/services
  • Extremely strong customer service skills always ensuring complete professionalism with all employees
  • Extremely detail oriented with excellent analytical skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, business or related field
  • Expert level user of all MS Office applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
