The Appian Strategy Office (ASO) is a tight-knit team that partners with senior leadership to analyze, formulate, implement, and monitor the success of Appian's strategy through a data-driven manner. Analysts serve as change agents that facilitate the execution of Appian's strategy across business units. The team's ultimate goal is to grow and improve Appian's business.
The Strategy Analyst serves as a member of the ASO. The Strategy team reports to the Chief of Staff and supports the CEO in formulating, articulating, implementing, and monitoring Appian's strategy. The Strategy Analyst will be a contributing member of our team. They will lead business analysis, monitor strategic initiatives, and produce reports on company performance in collaboration with tenured team members and business department leaders. They will support executive meetings with customers and prospects.

The Strategy Analyst serves as a member of the ASO. The Strategy team reports to the Chief of Staff and supports the CEO in formulating, articulating, implementing, and monitoring Appian's strategy. The Strategy Analyst will be a contributing member of our team. They will lead business analysis, monitor strategic initiatives, and produce reports on company performance in collaboration with tenured team members and business department leaders. They will support executive meetings with customers and prospects.
To be successful in this role, you need to:
- Combine creative thinking and analytics to develop a sophisticated understanding of Appian's business
- Support executive meetings with customers and prospects
- Support quarterly Earnings Call research and processes
- Produce and validate recurring reports of company performance
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research and lead analyses that drive short- and long-term company growth
- Create performance models that account for plausible scenarios and illustrate limitations of tolerable risks
- Work closely with finance and business line leaders to measure the impact of initiatives
- Review historical performance and propose strategic recommendations
- Develop the respect and trust of others
- Strong organizational skills and high standards for work products

Basic qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in related field(s)
- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Commerce, Operations Management, Business Analysis, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent analytical discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SQL or analytical software
- Understanding of publicly traded companies, SEC filings, and Earnings Call processes
- Experience with Tableau and Excel
- Direct or consulting experience in the software or information technology industry
