The Alaka'ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) has a need for an Occupational Safety/Environmental Health Senior Policy Analyst to provide professional support services to the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (DASD) for Health Readiness Program and Oversight (HRP) out of Falls Church, VA. DUTIES INCLUDE: Joint Capabilities Integration & Development System (JCIDS) Management Documentation/ DoD Defense Business System Process (DBS) Process. Developing various documents to include, but not be limited to Initial Capabilities Documents (ICDs), Capability Development Documents (CDDs), Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), and Capability Production Documents (CPDs) as required by the Integrated Defense Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Life Cycle Management Framework. Coordinating and supporting all DHA and Health Services capability requirements via JCIDS and the DBS process. Analyzing JCIDs related capabilities, documents, and requirements documentation. Supporting in conducting analysis and providing administrative support for Health Affairs governance and organization. Providing administrative and analytical support to the Government Lead in supporting the development of charters for senior leadership councils and reorganization efforts. Providing the appropriate level of information, analysis and recommendations on the JCIDS process and Joint Capability Areas. Supporting document reviews, edits, and providing informed comments for JCIDS documents policy related documents, responses to the government for congressional or other inquiries, charters, and other official documents. Providing quantitative analytical support to the Government Lead to quantify large qualitative data and manipulate data to generate actionable information to support the government in developing programmatic decisions. Acquiring, capturing, and supporting the government in the management of MHS program and project information to support in the development and function of the Capability Area Management program. Developing point papers, briefings and recommendations regarding the development, identification, financial impact, analysis, selection, control, and evaluation processes applicable to the respective portfolio systems, programs, and initiatives. Providing level of information and recommendations on all aspects of healthcare policies and procedures for deployed contractors in the theater of operations and deployed DoD civilians as part of the DoD civilian expeditionary workforce. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Must be a Health Scientist, Public Health Specialist, or Environmental Health Specialist. Must have experience in preparing congressional and media responses (risk communications) and possess both written and oral communication skills related to environmental exposures in both the deployed and garrison environments. Must be able to gather, organize and develop draft White Papers, info papers on queried subject matter and prepare responses to Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) client for senior leaders with minimal supervision and quick turnaround. Must be knowledgeable in the current development processes, procurement and management of medical countermeasures to support the OSD client. REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: Must have at least a master's degree or higher in Public Health with a focus in epidemiology, occupational/environmental health, or toxicology.
