Is directed and coached by supervisor and more senior technicians. Performs duties in areas such as environmental test facility operations, electrical and mechanical maintenance, cleanroom operations, thermal blanket fabrication, mechanical and electrical integration, plating and machining operations, metal cutting, and recertification of lifting and handling devices and pressure vessel systems. Depending on area of assignment, assists senior technicians and engineers in: performing spacecraft environmental tests; repairing and maintaining equipment, facilities and systems; assembly, integration and handling of ground support equipment; testing and inspection of lifting device equipment and pressure vessels; operating conventional and CNC equipment and machine tools to fabricate flight and non-flight hardware components; fabrication of flight and test thermal blankets; or other duties associated with area of assignment.Peraton drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Peraton serves as a valued partner to essential government agencies, including NASA, the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and the Department of Health and Human ServicesCandidate Duties and Responsibilities Include:Support Vibration, Strength and Acoustic testing of space flight hardware by operating control systems interfacing with facilities and measurement transducersSet-up NASA test facilities supporting static load, acoustic, vibration, centrifuge, and modal testingInstall accelerometers and strain gages on spacecraft subsystems and structuresConnect transducers such as accelerometers, LVDTs, force gages, strain gages and load cells to the appropriate signal conditioners and data acquisition systemsProcess the collected data and convert to spreadsheets and .pdf filesHousekeeping immediate work areas and overall test facilitiesOperate Man-lifts. Cranes and fork-lifts (training will be provided)Work EnvironmentWork with other personnel in a group that is Team OrientedWork in clean roomsMust be capable of working from ladders, scaffolding, catwalks and manliftsMust be able to use the proper PPE as required by work activitiesQualificationsBasic QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent with1 year of related experience.Proficiency Windows OS and Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/Outlook).Familiarity with hand tools & electrical & mechanical principlesFamiliarity mechanical drawingsAbility to learn new technologies.Distinguish color for 8 color display while monitoring testing dataAdhere to policies and procedures at all levels of the test environmentPreferred KnowledgeExperience operating vibration and acoustic test control software such as M+PFamiliarity using computer interface to operate mechanical and electrical equipmentLight machining including drilling and simple millingKnowledge of basic electrical and electronic circuitsAbility to install instrumentation including, but not limited to accelerometers, LVDTs and Strain GaugesExperience with Crane, Man-Lifts and ForkliftsExperience with 5s initiatives
