Kforce has a client in Bethesda, MD that is seeking a Senior Accountant.Responsibilities: * The Senior Accountant will manage daily wire/ACH payments to merchandise vendors that are on prepay terms; This process requires coordination between the vendor, in-house buying team, and Director of Accounting for final payment release * Coordinate processing of merchandise invoices for vendors that bill on terms; This process requires coordination between Accounts Payable, vendor, in-house buying team, and warehouse/store receiving staff as needed * As a Senior Accountant, you will maintain the vendor matrix which outlines payment terms for each vendor. Reviews invoices to ensure vendors are billing in accordance with agreed terms * Regularly obtain statements from all merchandise vendors to ensure all open invoices are accounted for and account remains in good standing * Prepare projections of expected inventory spend to facilitate the cash forecasting process * In this role, the Senior Accountant will coordinate test counts on an as-needed basis with store managers and Director of Loss Prevention; Provide analysis and results to management * Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field * 1-3 years of experience in inventory accounting, or equivalent experience in the retail industry preferred * Ability to work independently with minimal instruction or supervision * Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills * Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook; Strong Excel skills are required Kforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
