JOB TITLE: Manager of Data Analytics (HYBRID WORK SCHEDULES AVAILABLE)REPORTS TO: Vice President of InnovationPOSITION SUMMARY:We are seeking a Manager of Data Analytics to lead a team in our research department. This person will lead the conception, planning, management, and implementation of analytics projects, maintenance of data management and reporting systems, data collection, and quantitative analysis related to essential hospitals and health care services.The Manager of Data Analytics will support the team members of our mission-driven organization through problem-solving, identifying trends, and reporting outcomes. This person will work across the organization to provide supporting data for activities related to membership and dues, strategic planning, health services research, and other projects. The Manager of Data Analytics should have a demonstrated passion for and experiences driven by data, data systems, analytics, and actionable insight. This work requires project management, attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, effective collaboration, and adherence to deadlines. We offer highly competitive health, dental, vision, and disability insurance in addition to hybrid schedules, transportation/ wellness benefits, 401k, profit sharing, as well as liberal time off to include holidays, vacation and sick time.Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities of the Manager of Data Analytics**below is a summary, not an inclusive list of all responsibilitiesData AnalyticsAnalytic strategy and deployment: Serves as the clearinghouse for understanding, anticipating, and prioritizing information and analysis needs for the association's research, policy, advocacy, and communications teams, senior leadership, and members. Formulates analytics strategies and solutions and engages with teams and committees and key organizational decision-makers to ensure alignment with organizational strategy.Technical subject matter expert within the organization: Serves as a point of access to valuable analytics information for association members and staff. Provides expertise in data management, data collection, data analysis, data visualization, data distribution, key performance indicators, and metric creation. Promotes a data-informed organizational culture.Data management: Collaborates on the organization's data analytics and data warehousing needs with the director of information technology (IT). Collaborates with the director of IT to appropriately structure reports within association management software.Quality assurance and data governance: Collaborates on analytics audits, data governance processes, testing, quality assurance, quality control, and debugging of analytical and reporting code.Analytics implementation: Works with appropriate departments to create member benchmarking reports and products. Designs and maintains data programs; tracks, prioritizes, and manages analytics implementation initiatives across teams; serves as contact for analytics and reporting requests.Communication and decision support:. Presents and communicates data analytics results and procedures performed in a coherent and effective manner to both technical and non-technical audiences, including the development and distribution of white papers, briefs, presentations, member performance reports, infographics, maps, etc.Healthcare ResearchFacilitates the collection of data and obtaining secondary data for analyses.Uses various data sources, including the organization's data warehouse and other national and state databases, to synthesize and interpret trends in health care access, affordability, and quality.Leads data analytic-specific research projects.CollaborationWorks collaboratively and effectively with members of other teams. Coordinates with the director of IT.Actively participates in team activities and improving team functioning, including following team norms and providing support and backup for team members.Collaborates with the vice president and team to provide insight and guidance on programmatic strategies.Responds to short-term information requests from members and association staff.Supervisory FunctionsRecruits, trains, coaches, develops, and supervises direct reports.Delegates tasks and responsibilities.Manages project timelines and status.Makes sure that work quality matches association needs and standards.Minimum Education and Experience for the Manager of Data Analytics:Master's degree in health services research, public health, public policy, public administration, biostatistics/statistics, epidemiology, or related fields.Seven or more years of experience in a position monitoring, managing, manipulating, and drawing insights from data, with two or more years of experience leading a team.Exceptional capability in analyzing and interpreting results of individual and group research, using standard and new research methods and techniques.Strong problem solving, quantitative, and analytical skills.Strong project management skills to coordinate multiple activities and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining attention to detailExperience performing data manipulation and analyses using SAS, STATA, Python, or R and/or other statistical analysis software.Experience with Structured Querying Language (SQL) and database principlesKnowledge and understanding of health care policy and services.Familiarity with health care policy related data sets, such as CMS Hospital Compare, HCRIS, federal regulatory files, etc.Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.Proficiency with Salesforce, GIS (QGIS), and infographic creation tools preferred.Essential Characteristics for the Manager of Data Analytics:Commitment to the organization's mission and vision and alignment with our values.Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion; to be anti-racist.Able to understand business needs and objectives and to leverage data and analytics to support themAble to work independently and collaboratively leveraging data and analytics and to have a respectful attitude toward coworkers.Personal and professional integrity; an independent and confident thinker; and working effectively, at times, with ambiguity.Superior attention to detail, judgment and accountability.Desire to learn and grow.Able to travel once it is safe to do so.Ability to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.*Able to commute to the DC office.*Considerations may be made for valid exemptions, such as reasonable accommodations due to a disability or religious reason.PI159876043
