That means you'll have an opportunity to make an impact on a huge scale - as part of an incredible team culture that's defining the future of behavioral health care.As a Sr. Behavioral Health Care Advocate within the Optum's dedicated Maryland Medicaid Behavioral Health team you will be responsible for the supervisory oversight and direction of UM Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP), Residential Rehabilitation Program (RRP), and Respite team. You will use your clinical skills to provide guidance to the team in conducting reviews of Behavioral Health disorder services. You will work interdependently with internal teams, external partners, and vendors in a manner consistent with the highest levels of performance and professionalism to accomplish critical tasks. As a key resource, your positive approach and dedication to teamwork will enable you to provide outstanding assistance. This position provides a great opportunity to have an impact on the lives of our participant as you recommend and manage the appropriate level of care.You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute from anywhere in the state of Maryland as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities: Supports day to day operations of team as subject matter expert for department Presents as subject matter expert to client and other stakeholders Implements changes directed by the client Reviews cases as needed Provides oversight and support initial and concurrent reviews for PRP, RRP, and Respite Tracks key metrics and ensures they are met specific to turn around time and clinician's productivity Manages escalated concerns/cases to resolution Monitors team's performance and supervise a team of licensed clinicians Provides assistance, approval and intervention, as needed, for determination of medical necessity, appropriateness and extended length of-stay decisions Participates in weekly case rounds Brings a positive approach to problem solving Excellent customer service skillsYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications: Independently Licensed Master's degree level clinician in: Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Marriage & Family Counseling; OR Licensed Ph.D. or Licensed PsyD; OR an RN with at least 2 years of experience in behavioral health (licensure must be current and unrestricted) Active, Maryland Independent Licensure 3+ years of behavioral health clinical experience in a behavioral health settingPreferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Maryland Medicaid Level of Care Guidelines Direct practice experience with managing PRP, RRP, and Respite Utilization review experience in an insurance company or managed care setting Experience in chart review Knowledge of the Maryland Medicaid patient population Dual diagnosis experience with mental health and substance abuse Experience working in an environment that required coordinating benefits and utilizing multiple groups and resources for patients Excellent organizational skills Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role.
