The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and supporting LAN and Cisco Wireless infrastructures for all assigned clients. The Sr. Network Engineer provides high-level technical support for wireless and data network systems, creates and maintains network documentation and works projects as needed in order to upgrade to new and/or improved communication equipment and procedures. DSI is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.Position ResponsibilitiesWill perform remote and on-site client consultation: plan, design, implement, and support the wireless infrastructureDevelop and implement the technical architecture and physical design of the network: analyze existing wireless, and data networks and recommend solutionsSet up, configure, and test Cisco wireless solutions.Troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and provide solutions to complex hardware/software problemsAssist Account Executives during the sales process by educating the customer about new technologiesAct as a Cisco Subject Matter Expert to customers and internal staff.Assist in the management of projectsEnsure a stable performance environment for enterprise computer applicationsMust be comfortable working in a demanding environment where client satisfaction is our goalDirects the work of other technical team members and subcontractorsWork is performed with minimal supervision by senior managementKnowledge transfer and working well within a team are success essentials Qualifications / Skills / KnowledgeCCNP Wireless certification required / CCIE Wireless preferred.All Cisco wireless solutions including ISE.Minimum of five years related experience in Cisco wireless infrastructure/network environments, with some experience in network engineering (hardware and software), network security practices and designing, planning and implementing LANs and WANs.WLAN design experience and leveraging tools such as Ekahau, netAlly or iBwave are a must.Expert knowledge of at least one vendor's Wireless hardware - Access Points and Wireless Controllers.Knowledge of scripting including Python a plusExcellent knowledge of wireless networking technologies (.11 & RF)In-depth knowledge of wireless security - .1x, RADIUS, WPA2, EAP-TLS, PSK, general PKI conceptsUnderstanding wired networking concepts (Routing and LAN switching)Experience designing high-density AP and client deploymentsKnowledge of scripting including Python a plusAbility to effectively communicate with clients and end usersMust possess excellent client management/resolution, problem solving, debugging/troubleshooting skills, with sound presentation skillsExcellent English verbal communications and written documentation skills are required (must have the capability to write SOWs (statement of work), respond to technical requirements for RFPs (Request for Proposals)Expert Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, routing, subnets, and troubleshooting.Traveling can be up to 50% of the time, within the state of VA or out of stateMust possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer service skillsAbility to work independently and/or as a part of a teamAbility to sit for long periods of timeAbility to follow directions and pay attention to detailPhysical requirementsEmployee will be required to sit for long periods of time. In addition, employee is required to stand, walk, climb ladders, carry equipment, bend, kneel, crawl, reach, push, and pull.
