Duties

The ACES branch within the CCoE provides technical guidance and cloud expertise for the SEC's adoption of cloud technology.

Typical duties include:
  • Providing expert technical guidance, governance, and assistance for a wide variety of cloud operations such as the modernization of SEC's systems;
  • Developing a customer-focused organization;
  • Developing and deploying cloud technology to enhance the operations, installation and maintenance of specialized software and hardware supporting office operations;
  • Developing automated processes to enable Agile and CI/CD for SEC's cloud technology
  • Providing guidance for the development and deployment of IT systems using cloud technology;
  • Guiding the engineering, design, acquisition and implementation of cloud IT services and functions supporting the Agency.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

BASIC REQUIREMENT: Applicant must possess IT related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies: reviewing work to ensure it is in line with established standards or to identify deficiencies (Attention to Detail); collaborating with customers to identify their information technology needs or to resolve their hardware and software problems (Customer service); explaining technical information orally to non-technical audiences (Oral Communication); and evaluating alternatives to recommend solutions to hardware or software problems (Problem Solving).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must also meet the minimum qualification requirement.
Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS/SK-13 level:
(1) architecting secure cloud solutions for supporting modern applications/systems;
(2) leading information systems development and modernization efforts;
(3) performing customer engagement to identify opportunities for new or improved business process solutions; and
(4) securing cloud implementations throughout complete product lifecycle including security engineering and operations.
