Staff Accountant - Remote
National risk management firm is hiring for a Staff Accountant - Remote. Reporting directly to the Accounting Supervisor, the ideal candidate will play a key role within the Accounting team managing general accounting functions and assisting with budget and close processes. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with 2+ years of corporate accounting experience looking to transition into a fast-paced rapidly growing organization (company has doubled in size of past two years!) The ideal candidate will also be a part of a company with a proven track record of upward mobility.Compensation / Benefits:Competitive market salaryGreat benefits (Health / Dental / 401k Match / PTO)Various opportunities to move up internallyA commitment to an open, inclusive, and diverse work cultureFully remote position!Responsibilities:Assist with the monthly financial close by preparing account reconciliations, recording journal entries and maintaining accurate supporting documentationResponsible for entering accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and journal entries into accounting system through automated processesProcess balance sheet account analysis, including current assets, current liabilities, fixed assets, and intercompany accountsPrepare monthly reporting package, providing insight to business trends and variance analysis to senior managementConduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenanceAnalyze accounts to ensure items are recorded appropriately under GAAPSupport schedules and other processes related to mid-year and annual financial statement audits and other government audits as neededIdentify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and accuracy within the role and for the departmentPerform ad hoc tasks and reporting requests for the management team as needed related to the various functionsRequirements:Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting is required2+ years of corporate accounting experienceThorough understanding of GAAP principles and policiesStrong knowledge of QuickBooksIntermediate skills with Microsoft Office, including ability to do VLOOKUP's and pivot tables in ExcelExceptional thoroughness and attention to detail especially when working with large data setsMust be detail oriented, possess strong organizational skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work within a team concept and communicate with stakeholders throughout the organizationOur Commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Hollister is an equal opportunity employer.
