In addition, the applicant will be responsible for the following:Assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, conduit, cable, equipment, components, and devices associated with electrical equipment.Reading and following blueprints of electrical layouts, schematics, and building plans.Installing and mounting electronic controls, devices, panels, sensors, and components.Testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures while using testing devices.Inspecting installation sites and studying work orders, building plans, and installation manuals in order to determine material requirements and installation procedures.Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatuses, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.Directing, mentoring, training, and assisting co-workers and subcontractor personnel while performing installation or maintenance duties.Selected applicants will work in a team environment consisting of Security Technicians, Electrical Engineers, and Technical Specialists. Additional program specific responsibilities include:Participate in project related meetings, design reviews, and other planning sessions.Conducting site surveys of current and potential project locations.Developing comprehensive bill of materials from design and bid documents.Assisting with the development of the project schedule, work breakdown structure, and activity durations.Communicating effectively with team members and customers.Position / Candidate RequirementsPlease note that in pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US Citizenship statusMust successfully pass a background check and drug test post offerHigh School Diploma or GED with 3-4 years of experienceThis position will required 50%-75% travelDesired / Advantageous QualificationsPossess a journeyman's license in the appropriate jurisdiction.Previous experience with electronic security system installation.Experience or certifications with installing, terminating, and testing fiber optic cabling.Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and applications.AbilitiesLifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
