Most sales engineers have a very broad understanding of many technologies.About the RoleAs a Cisco AppDynamics Senior Sales Engineer, we work closely with account executives, sales leadership, partners, and customers every single day. We are responsible for selling to customer value through the products, services, and offerings in our portfolio. We DO NOT make cold calls, although, we work in lockstep with account executives to understand the market of your customers and customize demonstrations that will captivate and inspire the audience. In doing so, you will open the doors to what we call the proof of value (POV) where you can prove out these value-adds in a customers environment.There are additional opportunities to help the account teams with pipeline generation, for example, helping with demonstration recordings and email responses can go a long way to increasing revenue. This is a place where we highly encourage collaboration and creativity between the team, to work in the way that best fits their individual goals and personalities.Our role entails qualifying opportunities based on technical fit and customer needs. We bring empathy and support for both the customer and our internal team members throughout the sales process. All while continuing to improve ourselves through certifications, training on the competitive landscape, and understanding the market differentiation that makes us the premier full-stack observability choice. We do not attempt to sell software based on features and functionality alone, we sell utilizing our tried-and-true sales process based on solutions to real-world problems and value. In addition to the typical daily activities, there will be opportunities to work booths at premier technology events both internal and external to Cisco. This will help you network, build relationships, and your personal brand.Basic Qualifications:Experience with Unix/Linux/Windows shell scriptingExperience with reviewing and responding to RFPs/RFIs Experience turning technical requirements into business valueExperience and competence working at OS command lines including Unix, Linux, and Window command promptsKnowledge of cloud computing (at least one vendor)Knowledge of basic networking components and concepts.Ability to troubleshoot basic networking issues that may prevent communication between hostsUnderstanding of AppSec (Runtime Application Self-Protection, RASP)Experience with web servers and common relational databases used in todays application architectures.Ability to understand SQLExcellent communication and presentation skillsPassionate about technical sales and working with customersAmbitious and self-motivated with a high emotional IQAbility to work on multiple opportunities & POVs concurrentlyHighly coachable with a strong desire to improve and grow as a professionalTravel up to 20%Desired Additional Experience & Skills:Comfortable with speaking at all organizational levels (internally and externally)Experience with application performance management technologies and techniquesCertified in one or more cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle, etc.)4+ years experience in one or more of the following:software sellingcloud engineeringperformance engineeringperformance testingobject-oriented application architecturesite reliability engineeringIT operations / systems administrationdevops engineeringrelease managementincident managementobject-oriented software developmentnetwork engineeringdatabase administrationapplication security We are FSO (Full Stack Observability)Note to Recruiters and Placement Agencies: AppDynamics does not accept unsolicited agency resumes.
