Description Job Description:Join a winning team! SAIC's National Security and Space (NSS) Sector is currently hiring for a customer within the Intelligence Community (IC) in Chantilly, VA. This customer is responsible for designing, building, and operating national security-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground. SAIC is a strong company providing opportunities for energetic individuals with a strong desire to expand their knowledge while increasing their responsibilities.NSS Sector has an opening for a digital engineering lead to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) services to an IC customer. The customer organization we support provides the enterprise architecting, analysis, and systems engineering solutions that determine the current and future national space systems. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Exercise thought leadership and practical engineering application by leveraging extensive Systems Engineering and MBSE experiences to lead the Digital Engineering support provided to the CustomerOversee definition and documentation of enterprise level policies, procedures, guidance, and best practices regarding use of modeling languages and frameworksManage teams developing an organized repeatable approach, methodology, language, and style that enables elements usage with a model and sharing between model development projectsDevelop modeling methods driven by Digital Engineering and Systems Engineering objectives, including library of standardized and frequently used patternsDevelop documentation for how to create/maintain modeling libraries that shall be used among all modelsDevelop documentation for how to integrate model and develop model queries to enable architects, enterprise system engineers, and acquisition offices to obtain results of previous workGather, document, and share systems engineering lessons learned throughout the enterpriseWork across multiple Directorates and Offices to identify and define future space capability needsFrequent interaction with government, SETA, FFRDC, external stakeholders, and development contractorsLead and manage personnel charged with the following activities:Develop and use Modeling Methodologies and OntologiesDevelop and customize MetaModelsDevelop and enforce modeling best practices and support quality reviews for modelsDevelop Model structure and Data Management principlesPlan Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) model development in support of systems engineering objectives and program milestonesSupport efforts involving MBE and MBSE tools and proceduresGenerate reports out of the MBSE tools for analysisPrepare briefings for senior decision makersQualifications Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in STEM (science, technical, engineering, math) or related discipline with at least 14 years of relevant experienceActive TS/SCI clearance with polygraphProven experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and architecture frameworks such as Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)Proficient with Digital Engineering tools and proceduresWorking knowledge of systems engineering documentation to include concepts of operations, interface control documents, and verification and testAbility to provide technical and programmatic direction on the development, integration, and use of model-based engineering and model-based systems engineering modelsProficient understanding of fundamental model development and its application to architecture or system designExperience with process improvement and metric development initiativesProven experience in core systems engineering and analysis disciplines and processesDemonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic environmentDemonstrated ability to lead teams requiring collaboration, open communication, and willingness to work in a pair-programming style collaborative work environmentStrong oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated leadership abilitiesDesired Qualifications:Advanced degree in STEM (science, technical, engineering, math) or related discipline with emphasis on MBSEExperience in modeling tools (Cameo) and modeling frameworks (UAF, DoDAF, MODAF) and languages (SysML, UML, MOF)Prior US military and/or IC customer experienceCOVID Policy: Prospective and/or new employees are required to adhere with SAIC's vaccination policy.
