The contract covers a range of global Network and Telecom and support services such as load balancing, domain services, virtual private network, and the internet to enable communications within and outside the enterpriseWhat You'll Get to Do:The Senior Network Engineer works directly with the DoS customer to build, design, test and deploy enterprise network transport solutions utilizing Cisco routers/switches. They will develop and deploy network engineering solutions in compliance with Enterprise Architecture standards. They will collaborate with technical SMEs on enterprise-wide solutions, participate in technical working groups, and contribute to technical advisory boards and participate in peer review of network configuration change requests prior to deployment. Additional activities include:Implementation of configuration changes.Tier III Support and Maintenance activities.Service Requests: monitor, resolve, update and close service request tickets.Documenting network infrastructure components, drawings.Assist in developing and documenting procedures and processes.The senior network engineer will apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system life cycle to support the addition of multi-disciplinary solutions and products.The senior network engineer will interface with customers and other technical and support personnel, converse effectively with technical and non-technical teams and leverage written and verbal communication skills to convey proposed solutions.More About the Role:Develop solutions that integrate and extend the capabilities of existing products.Collaborate with the technology development team and provide expertise to assess new technology products that are in line with current capability gaps.Work within technology development team to design, develop and test new products Provide input to the technology development team on the level of effort required for solutions, to include planning, test readiness levels, and project scheduling.Provide support to management in areas of technical expertise with respect to emerging cloud technologies, standards, and medical IT industry trends.You'll Bring These Qualifications:Bachelors degree in a computer science/computer engineering related discipline and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience10+ years IT security/network engineering support experience (Engineering, Tier II, Tier III, network infrastructure implementation and maintenance)Solid understanding and analysis of network flows and OSI modelExperience implementing large enterprise/global network solutionsExpert experience in BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, GRE, DMVPN, IPSEC, MACSEC, Multicast, UnicastExpert experience with Cisco network platforms: routers, switches, VPN concentrators, network management (ISR/ASR/Nexus).Expert knowledge of TCP/IP networkingExperience working directly with Government customerTechnical writing and documentation/diagram skills (MS Visio/MS Word/MS Excel)Self motivated, self-directing, and aggressively communicativeMust have excellent attention to detailKnowledge of IT security concepts and practices is requiredStrong written/verbal communications skills are requiredPosition requires a Top Secret clearance is required for this position.
