Job Description Technical Program Manager POSITION IS FULLY REMOTE DURING COVID-19 but will be back in the office in Bethesda upon return to normal. Must be a US Citizen Our client, an award-winning provider of dynamic management systems for next-generation satellite payloads is seeking a Technical Project Manager. The position requires in-depth software development process knowledge and experience. Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services. Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions. Works independently and will receive minimal guidance. This position acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Responsibilities: Will manage application development projects. Prepare project plans and coordinate the attainment of project deliverables from planning to implementation. Maintain matrix for process improvements. Drive project deliverables and task details through the use of reports, tracking charts and checklists. Align activities and resources internal to the business unit to achieve on-time and within-budget project delivery. Monitor and report to the business unit on the project's cost performance. Contribute to the team's technical development in the pursuit of the team's project goals. Research potential risks, manage project obstacles and make adjustments to ensure the project stays on track. The background is software development using the latest processes such as Agile. Demonstrates conceptual and practical project management expertise. General understanding of telecommunications industry. Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite as well as project management tools. Business Expertise Good business acumen Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Problem Solving Excellent problem-solving skill Management of large-scale enterprise systems with real-time operational requirements and numerous external interfacing systems. Requirements: Previous experience with management of multi-million-dollar FFP, T contracts, and program financials. Experience with both large commercial and government customers. Previous experience in satellite communications systems preferred. Education: Bachelors or greater in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technology and 5-10+ years of experience. Candidates must have a proven ability to work both independently and in a team environment, strategize on complex problems, and think outside the box to find solutions. Strong communication and writing skills are an absolute must. Candidates must also be self-motivated and self-managing of their workload as well as deliverable deadlines.
