Years of Experience: 5 years Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree Position Description: We are looking for a savvy Data Engineer/ETL Developer to join our growing team of analytics experts. The Data Engineer will work with a team to build a New Data Platform on AWS Redshift. The Developer will be responsible for supporting the ingestion of data sources into a data lake and identifying and resolving issues with source data quality problems before committing to the Redshift Data warehouse. Responsibilities: Evaluate Oracle PL/SQL Code and check for compatibility with PL/pgSQL in PostgreSQL, look for retrofitting options. Check dynamically generated SQL within middleware, application server objects, Java classes and shell scripts. Design and develop repository-based SQL code that could be dynamically constructed at runtime. Evaluate and innovate the mapping of application functionality requirements using cloud native technologies such as AWS Lambda. Refactor and Retrofit embedded and dynamic/generated SQL from Oracle to PL/pgSQL in PostgreSQL together with related schema changes, including within C++, C#, Python, Perl, Java classes, batch programs, external scripts, PL/SQL DB objects (procedures, functions, triggers, views, etc.) and SQL stored within DB tables. Inventory and evaluate objects to be refactored, cataloging specific migration topics to be addressed (eg a Decode function, pipelined functions, types, table functions) within the objects RequirementsRequired Skills: Overall, 5-7 years of Data Engineering and Data Integration/ETL Experience. 2+ years of hands-on experience in: AWS S3 AWS Glue AWS Athena AWS Redshift AWS RDS/PostgresSQL Proficient in Python and SQL programming Preferred Skills AWS Data Migration Services (DMS) Data Modeling using AWS Redshift Performance tuning AWS QuickSight PowerBI Oracle Database and Tools Soft Skills: Organizational Skills: Can plan and prioritize work. Follows tasks to their logical conclusion and makes sure that everything has been done to the right standard. Good attention to detail. Team Work: Able to enthuse and maintain project interest. Comfortable working both individually and as part of a team. Prepared to challenge ideas within a group in a constructive way.
