You will work with other APL engineers as well as outside prime contractors and government sponsors. You will engage with a diverse, hardworking, and enterprising team of scientists and engineers working to develop high-impact solutions for the Nation's defense. Be part of a team of talented engineers tackling national security challenges!As a Radar Systems Engineer, you will Conduct analysis of radar systems utilizing existing high fidelity radar system to understand capabilities and limitations of systems under highly variable operational conditionsResearch and develop realizable solutions to gaps and opportunities identified through modeling, simulation, and analysisProvide insightful documentation on analysis findings and new conceptsInteract with sponsors to understand program priorities, share analysis results, and introduce new conceptsParticipate in design reviews, technical interchanges, working groups, and program status meetings, either as a presenter or as a reviewerParticipate in meetings and collaborations at Navy and vendor locationsHave the opportunity to develop and propose ideas for APL Internal Research and Development fundingQualificationsYou meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you Have a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field3+ years experience in Aerospace, Hypersonics, Radar or RF systemsHave familiarity with Python, MATLAB, MATLAB Toolboxes, and Microsoft Office productsPossess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to effectively interact with sponsors, management, and working group team members in a fast-paced environmentAre able to obtain an Interim Secret, clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship.Can demonstrate that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
