NGMS is seeking multiple applicants for a career in embedded software development and maintenance, responsible for designing and implementing software solutions for a broad range of embedded applications. Assignments may include development of software functional components, algorithms, device controllers, and graphical user interfaces. Assignments may involve any or all of the phases of software development requirements analysis, design, coding, unit testing, integration, acceptance testing and customer support. Successful applicant must have strong language skills in C++ and or Python with Object Oriented Analysis/Design development experience in either Windows 10 Visual Studio or Linux embedded development environments. Ability to work in a collaborative Agile software development team environment with continuous integration and test frameworks a must. Ability to work with embedded computer hardware and communications equipment is required. The applicant Principal Engineer will support varied product lines including AI image processing exploitation, digital signal processing, autonomous vehicle software, command and control, Man-Machine Interfaces, sensor/SONAR systems and simulation/stimulation. Work will also include developing prototypes, demonstrations and proposals. Assignments may involve leading small development teams and mentoring junior engineers. Underseas projects use a variety of state of the art software tools, including Yockto Project or similar full-system embedded Linux build tools, Qt, Jenkins, Docker, Java, javascript, web app and network programming tools.This position is located in Annapolis, MD but may involve travel to other NG locations and/or Government locations within the US Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline9+ years of software engineering experience (7 years for MS degree, 4 years for PhD)Experience in software development using C++ and/or PythonExperience in developing software on Windows and/or Linux Operating systemsExperience with collaboration tools such as Confluence, Jira, and GitHubExperience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance is requiredUS Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain an US Security Clearance at the Secret Level (or higher)Ability to travelPreferred Qualifications:Active US Security Clearance at a Secret Level strongly preferredMS degree in STEM disciplineExperience in developing in C++, python and scripting languagesStrong testing/debugging skillsExperience with leading software development teams including cost and schedule managementEmbedded software system developmentExperience with sonar or other digital signal processing systems and applicationsSalary Range: 119784 - 179676Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
