Superconducting electronics forms the core of our technology, with a focus on energy-efficient computation including our patented superconducting digital logic technology, Reciprocal Quantum Logic (RQL). On a gate for gate basis, RQL consumes orders of magnitude less power than CMOS while running at significantly higher clock speeds. Qualified individuals will join our team in mission to transform computing beyond Moore's Law, advancing development of computer architecture, processing/memory subsystems, and large scale high performance computing systems. You'll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside physicists, design engineers, and superconducting semiconductor foundry engineers to make these processing solutions a reality. The Cyber and Intelligence Mission Solutions (CIMS) Advanced Capabilities sector is seeking a Cryogenic Thermal Mechanical Engineer/Principal Cryogenic Thermal Mechanical Engineer with experience in cryogenics thermal engineering to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The qualified cryogenics thermal engineer researches and implements new thermal management technologies, develops analytical models to predict thermal performance of cryogenic systems, and designs, develops, and performs testing on thermal systems operating in the cryogenic realm. The ideal engineer will have experience in developing detailed thermal models, interfacing with hardware designed for cryogenic systems (including dewars and refrigerators), and have some mechanical design experience. This position focuses on developing hardware and testing facilities designed to be cooled with liquid helium. Knowledge of liquid helium operations is a plus. Knowledge of thermal analysis software (COMSOL, IcePak, Sinda/Fluint) or similar platforms is preferred. The ability to work with an integrated product team of diverse engineers is necessary. The ability to follow, improve, and develop cryogenic thermal engineering processes is desirable. Knowledge of cryogenic safety systems is a plus.This position is located in Linthicum, MD and work onsite is required.This is a dual band requisition and may be filled as a Cryogenic Thermal Mechanical Engineer or a Principal Cryogenic Thermal Mechanical Engineer.
